چکیده

Abstract Million tons of cellulosic paper have been used for insulating coils in oil-filled electrical power transformers, thereby assuring the electricity supply our societies. The high working temperatures transformers constantly degrade insulators throughout their service life up to 40 years. We approached structural changes oil-immersed samples upon thermal stress a study that compared unbleached softwood Kraft as insulator with pure cotton cellulose paper. model experiments treatment transformer oil at 170 °C 14 days. were characterized by means 13 C CP/MAS NMR spectroscopy, mainly based on deconvolution C4 resonance. An automated, fast, and reproducible resonance employing “Peak Analyzer” tool OriginPro 2020 (OriginLab Corporation, USA) was developed exploit spectroscopy characterization thermally stressed samples. Our results show induced depend heavily composition paper, hornification coalescence fibrils take place, allomorph crystallites is altered under given conditions. Graphical abstract

Supramolecular interactions probed by 13C-13C solid-state NMR spectroscopy.

We present a robust solid-state NMR approach for the accurate determination of molecular interfaces in insoluble and noncrystalline protein-protein complexes. The method relies on the measurement of intermolecular (13)C-(13)C distances in mixtures of [1-(13)C]glucose- and [2-(13)C]glucose-labeled proteins. We have applied this method to Parkinson's disease-associated α-synuclein fibrils and fou...

2H-DNP-enhanced 2H-13C solid-state NMR correlation spectroscopy.

Perdeuteration of biological macromolecules for magic angle spinning solid-state NMR spectroscopy can yield high-resolution (2)H-(13)C correlation spectra and the method is therefore of great interest for the structural biology community. Here we demonstrate that the combination of sample deuteration and dynamic nuclear polarization yields resolved (2)H-(13)C correlation spectra with a signal e...

Probing molecular motion by double-quantum (13C,13C) solid-state NMR spectroscopy: application to ubiquitin.

We demonstrate the use of two-dimensional ((13)C,(13)C) double-quantum spectroscopy to detect molecular dynamics by solid-state NMR. Data collected on tyrosine-ethylester (TEE) are in line with previously determined ((1)H,(13)C) order parameters. Application of these experiments to microcrystalline ubiquitin reveals the presence of dynamics on millisecond or faster time scales and differences i...

Solid-State NMR Spectroscopy

A number of arylamides have been synthesized and found to exhibit potent antimicrobial activities against a broad spectrum of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria while exhibiting low toxicity toward eukaryotic cells. These facially amphiphilic foldamers have a relatively rigid intramolecular hydrogen-bonded arylamide as a framework, which places trifluormethyl versus positively charged ami...
